If you’re finding that your lovingly prepared instant mash, pasta ‘n’ sauce or freeze-dried pouch meal is tasting a bit bland, a little sprinkling of seasoning will help. But carrying salt and pepper shakers might seem a bit extravagant on an ultralight backpacking trip. This ultra-compact and waterproof shaker will sort you out. Just fill the dual-chambered shaker with salt and pepper – or your own choice of essential spices (personally, we find a little paprika or some dried mixed herbs goes a long way).
