Roll-top packs are the epitome of unfussy design. Simple, functional, weatherproof and streamlined. For the latest version of the Fieldsmith, Patagonia have taken their much-loved roll-top and switched out the old recycled polyester for a rugged-looking organic cotton with a highly water-resistant PU coating. It’s the kind of bag that’s smart enough for the commute but comfortable and durable enough for a day out hiking in the hills. The 32-litre main compartment has a padded laptop sleeve that’ll fit most 15″ laptops, and this is also accessible through a convenient side zip in the back panel. On top of that, you’ve got a zipped front pocket and quick stash side pockets for your water bottle, umbrella or whatever. As with all Patagonia stuff, it’s built to last in a Fair Trade Certified™ factory.
