Roomy roll-top daypack that’s perfect for overnighters

The 36-litre Patagonia Terravia might just be the ideal hut-to-hut pack, but it’s also great for winter day-hikes, cheeky summer bivvies and any situation where you need to carry a bit more gear in comfort. Unlike the smaller packs in the Terravia range, this one has an internal frame to support heavier loads – plus a roll-top closure that lets you push the capacity of the pack to the max. By the same token, you can cinch the top right down and pull in the side compression straps to make the whole package more compact if you’re not going out fully loaded. You’ve got piles of organisation, including side bottle pockets, a front stash pocket for wet gear, a couple of zip compartments and quick-access pockets on the belt fins. Breathable airmesh in the straps and back panel keeps you cool on hot days, and if the weather goes the other way, they’ve thrown in a useful rain cover too.
